Weekly Goals and Updates

Good Evening Y'all! I'm a day late for my weekly goals, but I had a busy day yesterday and this is the first time I have been able to sit down and write.

I am doing the 30 Day Shred Challenge with Amber from a A Crafty Healthy Mom, and don't want to brag but I KILLED it last week. I bumped it up to level 2 on Monday ahead of schedule because I wasn't sore anymore and felt like I needed a challenge. It was definitely a challenge! At some point in the video Jillian says she wants you to feel like you're going to die, and I DEFINITELY did!

On Wednesday of last week I decided I wanted to run that evening. So I laced up my shoes and just started to run. One of my July goals is to be able to run a half mile without stopping and down and back on my street is a half mile. I started running and it just felt different. It felt easier, I wasn't winded, and even though my legs were SOOO sore from the 30 day shred I just kept going. I RAN A HALF MILE WITHOUT STOPPING FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER THAT I CAN REMEMBER!!!!  I have never been so excited in my life. I almost cried! I stopped running then at the half-mile, but totally felt like I could have probably gone longer. On to Thursday, it was a super nice morning so I got up and busted out ONE MILE!!! I stopped once to take a drink, but then went right back to running. I'm so proud of myself to have accomplished this. I hadn't really been running, since doing the 30 day shred but I really feel like it has helped improve my lung capacity and endurance.

I took Friday off from doing anything because I have been feeling super light headed, but Saturday I busted out a mile and a half. I will get back to doing the 30 day shred today since I kind of took a hiatus, but honestly I can feel my body changing. I didn't lose any weight last week, but my monthly friend came to visit me on Saturday so I'm hoping it was making me retain water or something.

Operation Skinny Jeans
Today I'm linking up with Operation Skinny Jeans for my weekly goals!

Goal One: Do level two of the 30 day shred every day this week! Monday-Sunday. We are almost done with the 30 days and I HAVE to finish strong!

Goal Two: Drink Water! I feel like I have been drinking a lot of water, but in reality it is only like 8 cups a day and for my body weight I need a lot more!

Goal Three: Make good food choices and track everything on MyFitnessPal!

Low Carb Recipe: Sausage, Peppers, and Onions

One of my goals for July is to make and blog about 5 healthy recipes. Tonight I'm going to show you one that I kind of made up after visiting Silver Dollar City during Christmas time. If you have ever been there you know they have AMAZING food! Last time we ate there we got this skillet thing that had all sorts of potatoes, peppers, onions, sausage, and spices in it. It was amazeballs (I feel like an official blogger now.) So I decided to semi re-create the meal.

I started cutting up the peppers before I remembered I was going to blog about this, but I use green, red, yellow, and orange peppers and about a half of each of them. Slice them like you would for fajitas.

These are the sausages I used. They are the Italian mild sausage from Aldis.
This would be way healthier if you bought the turkey sausage.

photo.JPG
I use cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to season the sausage to taste. I LOVE spicy food so I use quite a bit.

Cook the sausage with a little bit of olive oil until it's near done.

Once the sausage is done drop in the peppers and onions and cook until they are soft. Seriously the best thing you will ever eat!

Hope you enjoyed the recipe. It's pretty easy! Sorry if the pictures are a little blurry. Sometime we cook potatoes and add that .

Calorie Content for 1 Serving of this meal is about 300 calories. It would depend on what type of sausage you got.

Weekly Link Up

Operation Skinny Jeans

Linking up with Operation Skinny Jeans again this week for my weekly goals!

Last week I sat some pretty lofty goals for myself, especially since it was the 4th of July. I didn't exactly complete all of them, but I didn't eat fast food! Which was big for me! I did however have it tonight for dinner, so Thank Jesus that this is a new week! I did drink alcohol, which was against my wishes, but as my BFF said, "I think our forefathers would have wanted you to drink." So I took her advice and down the hatch it went. Even though I didn't complete all my goals, I did complete 5 out of 7 days of the 30 day shred!

So here are my goals for this week:

Goal One: Finish strong the next 5 days of the 30 day shred level one. I will move onto level 2 on Sunday.

Goal Two: Drink Water!! I did pretty well last week with eating healthy lunches and working out during the Princess' nap time, which helped with the drinking water thing!

Goal Three: Cook and blog about two healthy meals and recipes! I plan on cooking sausage and peppers this week sometime, as well as something with chicken.

Keep coming back and reading! Follow me on Instagram and MyFitnessPal at cdecker0

Hope y'all have a great week! Keep up the work ladies and remember that one bad meal, doesn't equal a bad day.

Saturday Weigh-In

So even though it's Sunday I weighed yesterday before heading to STL for the day. I told myself that no matter what the scale said I wouldn't let it ruin my day. I am down 1.4 pounds! Finally a loss!!

We went to see the Cardinals play the Marlins yesterday so by the time I got home I was pooped. I'm pretty sure I sweat so much I had to have lost at least 5 pounds! Needless to say I skipped the 30 Day Shred, but I got up this morning and kicked it in gear. I didn't want to and my legs and arms were shaking, but I know that is has to be done! I'm a little behind so tomorrow will start day 6 of the shred. My plan is to start level 2 workouts on Saturday.

I will leave you with some pics from STL! Hope y'all have a great weekend and finish strong!

Fourth of July Recap

Hope you all had a great 4th of July!!

I got up with the intentions of doing the 30 Day Shred before we headed to my parents for a BBQ. However, I had my hair done the day before and I wasn't about to have to redo all that hard work Ashley did.  So I got ready and told myself I would definitely workout when we got home.

Love my new scarf!!

The Princess enjoyed her ice cream!

We got home early and I complete day 3 of the 30 day shred. I was really sore and wasn't sure how it was going to go, but I'm learning that it's getting easier!

Today will be day four and as soon as the Princess is napping I will be completing day 4! I will be weighing myself tomorrow morning before heading to STL to watch my favorite baseball team -- The Cardinals!! Woot woot!

Hope y'all had a great fourth and I will be posting to update you on the weekly weigh-in and how I survived eating healthy at the baseball game!

Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away...

As I wrote my weekly goals linkup I was really in a low place. Click back one to read that. I don't want to relive it.

So I bought one of Jillian Michaels books on my kindle and started reading. I'm the type of person that in order to stick with something, I literally have to eat, breathe, and sleep whatever I'm doing. In Jillian's book she said we need to think about our long term goals and write them down. Imagine exactly what you are going to look like, what you are going to wear, and how you are going to act.

Long Term Goals

I will weight 150 pounds.
I will be tan with dark hair. I won't be tired everyday so I'll get up and do my hair and makeup everyday. I will wear cute clothes in NORMAL sizes.
I wqill have awesome legs and be happy. I will have a tiny waist and good booty.
I will run 3 miles for fun daily and do it easily. Kennedy and I will play outside for hours.
I will be happy. I won't worry about what I look like and whether people are judging me for what I'm eating.

The past DOES not define you; your present does.

Jillian talks about anytime you are down or thinking about going off the wagon, think about your long term goals and how you are going to get there. My long term goals are a ways off in my future so I'm also setting my July goals to break it down by month.

July Goals
1. I will complete 30 days of the 30 day shred.
2. I will be able to run a half-mile without stopping.
3. I will learn 5 healthy new recipes.
4. I will not eat fast food.
5. I will drink 8-10 cups of water a day.
6. I will NOT drink my calories.

There is no time like the present. I know that I have screwed up over and over again, but I need to suck it up, stop feeling sorry for myself, and instead kick my rear everyday!!!

Let's go friends!

Weekly Goals

Operation Skinny Jeans

Let me first start by saying I'm a failure. Every week since the 10 week challenge started I have made goals, and almost every week I have failed. Last summer I was so scared to get out of my normal routine (school everyday) because I was terrified I would gain weight. I ended up losing 20 pounds last summer. This summer, I weigh every week and gain weight. I wake up in the morning and feel bloated and swollen. I'm tired of feeling like crap, but yet I continue to eat crap. Today I woke up with my mind set, that I would start the 30 day shred and get this summer weight loss going. I ate well, and even walked half a mile. Then dinner rolled around, I WENT FAT GIRL CRAZY! I'm disgusted with all that I ate I know I had to gross my husband out. So here I am, writing to you again about weekly goals, that I FOR REALLZ need to keep, so I can stop being the Fun Fat Chick and start being the Fun Skinny Chick.

Goal One: Starting tomorrow NO FAST FOOD!! No matter how GOOD  Taco Bell looks I will not eat it! That being said, I am going to a baseball game Saturday, so I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to eat, but I will get there.

Goal two: NO ALCOHOL!! I feel so bloated and I know it's from drinking. I have drank almost all the alcohol in my house so I can't drink anymore!

Goal three: Get yo a$$ moving! 30 day shred starts tomorrow! Thank Jesus for 31 days in July since I screwed up today. I will do weight and measurements tonight as well as before pics.

I know that people struggle, but for some reason I feel like I'm the only one who continues to screw up on a daily basis. I really need to do a sugar/carb detox soon so I can cut these cravings, but I really have to mentally prepare myself for that so I'll let you know!

Keep coming back for my crazy, compulsive antics! Follow me on instagram and MyFitnessPal at cdecker0

Good luck on your goals this week ladies!!
