So What Wednesday..

So What Wednesday

  • So what if I have only been able to complete ourf things on my summer bucket list.
Summer Bucket List

  • So what if I'm eating out three times this week. It's summer and I'm tired of being stressed out over everything I eat and do. I'm going to relax and have some fun before summer is over.
Kind of my motto this summer! lol

  • So what if I let my child watch an hour of TV in the morning just so I can drink my coffee and watch the Today show... (Before I had kids I totally judged people who let their kids watch TV)
  • So what that I have two weeks before vacation and three before I go back to school and have yet to lose a SINGLE pound all freakin summer!
  • So what that my two year old doesn't want to potty train. I mean you don't see kids go to school in diapers so it has to happen at some point.

Hope you all have a great Hump Day!! Check back tomorrow for my July goals recap and my August goals.

Weekly Goals Link-Up

This is the first day I have been able to sit down and complete a post since last Monday. I have two posts thati never posted from last week due to my craziness. I helped out with VBS last week which took my mornings away, and them decided to have a yard sale Friday and Saturday so I spent all afternoon planning and setting up for that. Needless to say I failed to stick to my meal plan and complete the 30 day shred last week, however, I didn't partake in alcohol from Tuesdsy-Friday so that goal was 99% completed.

On to my new goals for this week. I have 12 days till I go on vacation and I want to feel confident in myself. I feel the best when I am working out and really trying so here's to making the next 12 days great!

Operation Skinny Jeans
Goal one:  Do the 30DS level 1 everyday this week. I would also like to throw in a couple runs of at least 1 mile each time.

Goal two: LOW carb. I read somewhere that doing sometg drastic to jump start your weightloss has actually been proven to be fore effective than losing weight really slowly. I have always had really good luck with eating low carb in the past and now that I'm back to a somewhat normal routine for the next 12 days I feel like I can achieve this.

Goal three: Get my stinking water in!! It is so hard for me to drink my water everyday and I have no idea why. Does anyone have any suggestions? I love water, but I just don't drink very often or much. Help!

My Outlet

As I laid in bed last night I was so sad. I failed again - another Monday with goals set and another day where I was just too lazy to accomplish them. I was sad because of how depressed I am with myself and how selfish that is! Sometimes when we feel overwhelmed we have to switch our mind sets. People's lives are WAY worse than mine. The Salvation Army in my town is turning away hundreds of families a day because they are out of food and money. People are hungry. Children are being beat. Yet here I am upset because I ate a cheeseburger instead of an apple. Yes I'm tired of failing, but more than that I'm tired of being so selfish! I'm being selfish by not getting healthy for my daughter, being selfish by playing this woe is me game with myself, and selfish to myself for not giving myself the best life I can live.

I have read lots of Skinny Meg and Mama Laughlins past posts and what I notice most is how happy they are now that they have accomplished their goals. I want to be happy! I want to be an after picture instead of a before. I know that I'm not perfect and will probably mess up again, but life is way too short to sit around and feel sorry for ourselves.

Today will be a selfless day. I will do things for other people and put others before myself. More than losing weight I want to be a life changer and you can't be selfish and a life changer.

Peace and Love Y'all!

A Low Point - Weekly Goals!

I for 10 days rocked the shizz out of some 30 Day Shred. Then, my schedule changed and I went back to my normal routine - eating crap, not working out, feeling exhausted, mad, and moody. I'm tired of it! Tomorrow is a brand new day and the beginning of a brand new week and I have some huge goals to finish up the month of July.

Operation Skinny Jeans
Goal one:
Quit being lame and get yo tush out of bed and workout! My goal is to do the 30 day shred level 2 every day Monday-Sunday. Along with that I would like to run a total of 4 miles this week. However I get that done I don't care, but it's getting done.

Goal two:
Absolutely NO alcohol during the week. It's summer time which makes that hard, but I feel like I would need help if I couldn't at least do that for a week. Lol

Goal Three:
Stick to my meal plan. I have planned out meals for the next week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and I want to stick to that plan. Along with weight loss my husband and I are also trying to become debt free so sticking to this goal will help me accomplish two goals!

Hope y'all have a great Monday! It's a brand new day and after coming off a crappy week I'm thankful for a chance for a do-over!

Finish the Sentence Link-up

Linking up today with Holly and Jake for Finish the Sentence!!!
button

If I had one extra hour in the day.. I would sleep! Can we say TWO YEAR old!?

I wish my name.. was Princess! There was a student last year that we had whose name was Primcess. Do you know how awkward it is to say, "Princess get in line." "Princess raise your hand." I want it to be super awkward for the nurse at the doctors office to say, "Princess time for your appointment".

I think anything chevron is pretty much amazing. However, I tried to chevron a wall in the playroom.

Epic Fail!!
It wasn't a Skinny Meg masterpiece that is for sure!

My last nightmare... I'm always falling off something.

Sometimes.. I randomly fist pump while driving when a really good song comes on. I'm pretty much the next big thing.

My last meal on earth would be sushi! I'm addicted!

I'd much rather be fat with boobs than skinny with a chest bone sticking out.

Mayonnaise is a must on a B.L.T. Sandwich!

10 years ago, I didn't think I would have a two year old.

Selfishly, I love laying in the bathtub and catching up on blogs while the husband puts the Princess to bed.

My favorite TV show right now.. I can't even decide. I puffy heart Real Housewives of New Jersey and the O.C.  I am also addicted to Pretty Little Liars, Jimmy Fallon, and Ellen!

30 Day Shred Level Two Hell

I started level two last Monday because I was feeling crazy! I was doing AWESOME!! until Friday came.. I decided to take the day off because I was dying. I felt really light headed and was having super bad headaches. Well one day led to another, and needless  to say I haven't done the 30 day shred since Thursday. So even though today is July 17th, I'm only on day 10 of the challenge.

EPIC FAIL!!

However, today is a new day so I'm up and at em'... Today I will do the 30 day shred level two, run a mile, track my food, and drink my water. I have learned this past year that just because you fall off the wagon, it doesn't mean you have to give up and quit. Just get back up the next day and get with it. I felt so much better when I felt like I was dying at the end of everyday because I know that meant that my body was changing.

So remember, even if you feel like giving up or that you have screwed up too much, get back up and get on that horse and get with it!!

Weekly Goals and Updates

Good Evening Y'all! I'm a day late for my weekly goals, but I had a busy day yesterday and this is the first time I have been able to sit down and write.

I am doing the 30 Day Shred Challenge with Amber from a A Crafty Healthy Mom, and don't want to brag but I KILLED it last week. I bumped it up to level 2 on Monday ahead of schedule because I wasn't sore anymore and felt like I needed a challenge. It was definitely a challenge! At some point in the video Jillian says she wants you to feel like you're going to die, and I DEFINITELY did!

On Wednesday of last week I decided I wanted to run that evening. So I laced up my shoes and just started to run. One of my July goals is to be able to run a half mile without stopping and down and back on my street is a half mile. I started running and it just felt different. It felt easier, I wasn't winded, and even though my legs were SOOO sore from the 30 day shred I just kept going. I RAN A HALF MILE WITHOUT STOPPING FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER THAT I CAN REMEMBER!!!!  I have never been so excited in my life. I almost cried! I stopped running then at the half-mile, but totally felt like I could have probably gone longer. On to Thursday, it was a super nice morning so I got up and busted out ONE MILE!!! I stopped once to take a drink, but then went right back to running. I'm so proud of myself to have accomplished this. I hadn't really been running, since doing the 30 day shred but I really feel like it has helped improve my lung capacity and endurance.

I took Friday off from doing anything because I have been feeling super light headed, but Saturday I busted out a mile and a half. I will get back to doing the 30 day shred today since I kind of took a hiatus, but honestly I can feel my body changing. I didn't lose any weight last week, but my monthly friend came to visit me on Saturday so I'm hoping it was making me retain water or something.

Operation Skinny Jeans
Today I'm linking up with Operation Skinny Jeans for my weekly goals!

Goal One: Do level two of the 30 day shred every day this week! Monday-Sunday. We are almost done with the 30 days and I HAVE to finish strong!

Goal Two: Drink Water! I feel like I have been drinking a lot of water, but in reality it is only like 8 cups a day and for my body weight I need a lot more!

Goal Three: Make good food choices and track everything on MyFitnessPal!

Low Carb Recipe: Sausage, Peppers, and Onions

One of my goals for July is to make and blog about 5 healthy recipes. Tonight I'm going to show you one that I kind of made up after visiting Silver Dollar City during Christmas time. If you have ever been there you know they have AMAZING food! Last time we ate there we got this skillet thing that had all sorts of potatoes, peppers, onions, sausage, and spices in it. It was amazeballs (I feel like an official blogger now.) So I decided to semi re-create the meal.

photo.JPG

I started cutting up the peppers before I remembered I was going to blog about this, but I use green, red, yellow, and orange peppers and about a half of each of them. Slice them like you would for fajitas.

photo.JPG

These are the sausages I used. They are the Italian mild sausage from Aldis.
This would be way healthier if you bought the turkey sausage.

photo.JPG
I use cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to season the sausage to taste. I LOVE spicy food so I use quite a bit.

photo.JPG
Cook the sausage with a little bit of olive oil until it's near done.

photo.JPG
Once the sausage is done drop in the peppers and onions and cook until they are soft. Seriously the best thing you will ever eat!

Hope you enjoyed the recipe. It's pretty easy! Sorry if the pictures are a little blurry. Sometime we cook potatoes and add that .

Calorie Content for 1 Serving of this meal is about 300 calories. It would depend on what type of sausage you got.

Weekly Link Up

Operation Skinny Jeans

Linking up with Operation Skinny Jeans again this week for my weekly goals!

Last week I sat some pretty lofty goals for myself, especially since it was the 4th of July. I didn't exactly complete all of them, but I didn't eat fast food! Which was big for me! I did however have it tonight for dinner, so Thank Jesus that this is a new week! I did drink alcohol, which was against my wishes, but as my BFF said, "I think our forefathers would have wanted you to drink." So I took her advice and down the hatch it went. Even though I didn't complete all my goals, I did complete 5 out of 7 days of the 30 day shred!

So here are my goals for this week:

Goal One: Finish strong the next 5 days of the 30 day shred level one. I will move onto level 2 on Sunday.

Goal Two: Drink Water!! I did pretty well last week with eating healthy lunches and working out during the Princess' nap time, which helped with the drinking water thing!

Goal Three: Cook and blog about two healthy meals and recipes! I plan on cooking sausage and peppers this week sometime, as well as something with chicken.

Keep coming back and reading! Follow me on Instagram and MyFitnessPal at cdecker0

Hope y'all have a great week! Keep up the work ladies and remember that one bad meal, doesn't equal a bad day.

Saturday Weigh-In

So even though it's Sunday I weighed yesterday before heading to STL for the day. I told myself that no matter what the scale said I wouldn't let it ruin my day. I am down 1.4 pounds! Finally a loss!!

We went to see the Cardinals play the Marlins yesterday so by the time I got home I was pooped. I'm pretty sure I sweat so much I had to have lost at least 5 pounds! Needless to say I skipped the 30 Day Shred, but I got up this morning and kicked it in gear. I didn't want to and my legs and arms were shaking, but I know that is has to be done! I'm a little behind so tomorrow will start day 6 of the shred. My plan is to start level 2 workouts on Saturday.

I will leave you with some pics from STL! Hope y'all have a great weekend and finish strong!

Fourth of July Recap

Hope you all had a great 4th of July!!

I got up with the intentions of doing the 30 Day Shred before we headed to my parents for a BBQ. However, I had my hair done the day before and I wasn't about to have to redo all that hard work Ashley did.  So I got ready and told myself I would definitely workout when we got home.

Love my new scarf!!

The Princess enjoyed her ice cream!

We got home early and I complete day 3 of the 30 day shred. I was really sore and wasn't sure how it was going to go, but I'm learning that it's getting easier!

Today will be day four and as soon as the Princess is napping I will be completing day 4! I will be weighing myself tomorrow morning before heading to STL to watch my favorite baseball team -- The Cardinals!! Woot woot!

Hope y'all had a great fourth and I will be posting to update you on the weekly weigh-in and how I survived eating healthy at the baseball game!

Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away...

As I wrote my weekly goals linkup I was really in a low place. Click back one to read that. I don't want to relive it.

So I bought one of Jillian Michaels books on my kindle and started reading. I'm the type of person that in order to stick with something, I literally have to eat, breathe, and sleep whatever I'm doing. In Jillian's book she said we need to think about our long term goals and write them down. Imagine exactly what you are going to look like, what you are going to wear, and how you are going to act.

Long Term Goals

I will weight 150 pounds.
I will be tan with dark hair. I won't be tired everyday so I'll get up and do my hair and makeup everyday. I will wear cute clothes in NORMAL sizes.
I wqill have awesome legs and be happy. I will have a tiny waist and good booty.
I will run 3 miles for fun daily and do it easily. Kennedy and I will play outside for hours.
I will be happy. I won't worry about what I look like and whether people are judging me for what I'm eating.

The past DOES not define you; your present does.

Jillian talks about anytime you are down or thinking about going off the wagon, think about your long term goals and how you are going to get there. My long term goals are a ways off in my future so I'm also setting my July goals to break it down by month.

July Goals
1. I will complete 30 days of the 30 day shred.
2. I will be able to run a half-mile without stopping.
3. I will learn 5 healthy new recipes.
4. I will not eat fast food.
5. I will drink 8-10 cups of water a day.
6. I will NOT drink my calories.

There is no time like the present. I know that I have screwed up over and over again, but I need to suck it up, stop feeling sorry for myself, and instead kick my rear everyday!!!

Let's go friends!

Weekly Goals

Operation Skinny Jeans

Let me first start by saying I'm a failure. Every week since the 10 week challenge started I have made goals, and almost every week I have failed. Last summer I was so scared to get out of my normal routine (school everyday) because I was terrified I would gain weight. I ended up losing 20 pounds last summer. This summer, I weigh every week and gain weight. I wake up in the morning and feel bloated and swollen. I'm tired of feeling like crap, but yet I continue to eat crap. Today I woke up with my mind set, that I would start the 30 day shred and get this summer weight loss going. I ate well, and even walked half a mile. Then dinner rolled around, I WENT FAT GIRL CRAZY! I'm disgusted with all that I ate I know I had to gross my husband out. So here I am, writing to you again about weekly goals, that I FOR REALLZ need to keep, so I can stop being the Fun Fat Chick and start being the Fun Skinny Chick.

Goal One: Starting tomorrow NO FAST FOOD!! No matter how GOOD  Taco Bell looks I will not eat it! That being said, I am going to a baseball game Saturday, so I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to eat, but I will get there.

Goal two: NO ALCOHOL!! I feel so bloated and I know it's from drinking. I have drank almost all the alcohol in my house so I can't drink anymore!

Goal three: Get yo a$$ moving! 30 day shred starts tomorrow! Thank Jesus for 31 days in July since I screwed up today. I will do weight and measurements tonight as well as before pics.

I know that people struggle, but for some reason I feel like I'm the only one who continues to screw up on a daily basis. I really need to do a sugar/carb detox soon so I can cut these cravings, but I really have to mentally prepare myself for that so I'll let you know!

Keep coming back for my crazy, compulsive antics! Follow me on instagram and MyFitnessPal at cdecker0

Good luck on your goals this week ladies!!
